Reclaim Oil to “Like New” Conditions

Clean Harbors provides oil quality guarantees to the following specifications.

• IFT 30 dynes/cm
• Acid (neutralization #) .05 or lower
• Dielectric Strength 30 KV or higher

Remove Sludge from Inside Transformer

We utilize a fullers earth vacuum dehydration process with hot oil, which dissolves sludge that may have formed on the core or carcass.  Once sludge is dissolved back into the oil, the hot oil passes through filter towers of diatomaceous earth and silica sand to absorb acids and sludge.

De-gas, Dehydrate and Remove Acids from Oil

Water is also removed through this process so clean, dry oil is reintroduced into the transformer.    Our reclamation system comes complete with a mobile laboratory to verify achievement of our decontamination goals.  An oxidation inhibitor (DBPC) is added following the final pass through the reclamation system to slow future oxidation of the oil.

Operate Within a Closed Loop (Online) Process

The process operates within a closed loop system, which prevents outside contaminants from entering the equipment.  The system can be utilized with the transformer energized if safety conditions and oil test data allow.

Transformer Vacuum Fill

The reclaim rig can also be utilized for vacuum filling units that require it after a retrofill or repair or for filling of a new transformer.
